20 Years of Toyota RAV Compact SUV
I remember seeing my first Toyota RAV 4 in 2000. I was blown away by the look of the car. The compact SUV category was something completely new at the time and the car made so much more sense with my young family than my sedan.
I promptly bought a champagne coloured model and the world was never the same.
What originally started out as a niche product developed into a mainstream category twenty years later, with nearly every volume carmaker producing at least one compact SUV.
Toyota says more than 90 percent of all RAV4s ever sold are still on the road today, which says a lot about the brand’s SUV.
Car Scoops has put together a wonderful pictorial history of 20 years of the Rav 4.
Here are some images to make you nostalgic.
