Virtual Volkswagen Comes To Life
Volkswagen has taken it virtual Gran Turismo roadster to the next level. They actually made a concept version. During the Wörthersee festival in Austria, Volkswagen unveiled its own version of Sony’s Gran Turismo GTI roadster.
Here’s what we found out:
- Based on a Golf GTI the radical concept has very little in common with the GTI you can buy in the showroom.
- It is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine the company claims is good for 370kW and 560Nm. That’s the same engine VW featured in its Design Vision GTI concept from Wörthersee in 2013.
- The design was chosen after an in-house competition between Volkswagen’s designers judged by Bischoff and Gran Turismo game creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
