Volkswagen Turns Gran Turismo Dream to Reality
Good news for Gran Turismo fans, Volkswagen seems to be making some dreams come true as they produce a special car which was first seen in the Gran Tourismo games. According to the car company, The Vision GT roadster is based on the current Golf GTI idea but this Vision is way cooler.
Here’s what we found out:
- It is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine the company claims is good for 370kW and 560Nm. That’s the same engine VW featured in its Design Vision GTI concept from Wörthersee in 2013.
- “The Vision GT project offered a wonderful opportunity to sketch out extreme ideas and design elements of the GTI that are portrayed as vibrantly, dynamically and emotionally as possible,” explains VW head of design Klaus Bischoff.
- The design was chosen after an in-house competition between Volkswagen’s designers judged by Bischoff and Gran Turismo game creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
