BMW X3 and X4 Will Get New Plug-in Hybrid
BMW will be adding a new plug-in (PHEV) in their SUV’s by 2017, specifically their X3 and X4.
Here are some of the news we were able to gather:
- According to Germany’s Auto Bild, the 2017 X3 will be available with a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 183kW, attached to an electric engine making 71kW.
- The new PHEV model will feature a combined peak output of 224kW and 700Nm, and should also boast an electric-only range of around 50km with an official fuel figure around 3.8 l/100km.
- Also reportedly on-board for 2017 is a new X3 M40i variant, powered by a 3.0 litre twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine making 269kW.
