The All-New Chevrolet Camaro Spy Shots
Just days after the Mustang was launched, the all-new Chevy sixth-generation Camaro has been spied testing in the wild by our spy photographers. As the images confirm, the new Chevrolet Camaro’s appearance will not be so different from the present model. However, the significant changes are expected to be taking place under the camouflaged skin.
Expected to be launched in the second half of 2015, the new Chevrolet Camaro will be based on General Motors Company’s luminous Alpha platform presently found only in Cadillac ATS. These new underpinnings code named Alpha are anticipated to form the basis of numerous new GM’s products such as the replacement of the Australian Holden Commodore models SS, SS-V and HSV with a new rear wheel drive sedan. Something the former Holden chairman has admitted.
Both Light and firm, the Cadillac ATS platform should ensure that the fresh Camaro is steps ahead of the present fifth generation when it comes to acceleration, handling, and economy.
The lighter weight of the new Chevy Camaro will also allow it to offer a four-cylinder engine providing a rival to the Ford’s New Mustang. The four-cylinder engine version is likely to be 2.0 liter with 272 horses and 295-pound feet of torque in the Cadillac ATS. Certainly, the V-6 and V-8 components will also be available. From the images, the Camaro’s are seen to be wearing quad exhaust tips, suggestive of them running V-8 engines.
Nevertheless, it is perhaps too early to guess whether this prototype is a Camaro SS or something nastier. Even so, the alpha bones and the tidier shape validates that something superior is coming.
