2015 Ford Falcon XR8
With Ford Falcon’s archrival Holden Commodore continuing to top the sales. Ford Australia has revealed a new look 2015 Ford Falcon XR8 and XR6 ahead of their opening sale late this year. According to Ford, the new Ford Falcon XR8 is one of its kinds and the final Falcon model. Designed to blend with Ford’s new DNA global design, the cars refreshed premium look is iconic of a high-performance sedan.
With new style and cues seen in Ford’s latest releases such as the Mustang, the Falcon is no exception. The new Falcon XR8 features, chiseled headlamps, trapezoidal grilles, front parking sensors, reversing camera, 8” color touch screen, Wi-Fi hotspot, USB and digital radio.
Ford has also highlighted that the XR8 will feature an integrated boot-lid rear spoiler, quad-tipped exhaust system and a distinctive rear diffuser. The quad tipped exhaust system will mimic the sporty V8 exhaust note.
Mechanically, the Falcon XR8 features a V8 supercharged 5.0-liter engine with 335kW and 570Nm, denoting increased efficiency of these new model. The previous model was aspirated by a 290kw and 520Nm 5.4-liter V8 supercharged engine. The car also features 9” rear tyre wheels, uprated suspension, and four -pot Brembo brakes. Similar features with the GT that made its handling even easier.
The entire Ford Falcon range prices and specifications will be revealed just upon its launch. The array will include the Falcon Ute and likely-the FG X and Territory SZ II. The good news is that the company has announced significant price reductions.
Overall, the Ford Falcon XR8 is a competent sedan. With both looks and engineering, it deserves to sell its stocks off.
